Hi! I’m Richard Palacios CS graduate from Cuenca Ecuador. As an SSR. Software Engineer, I’m constantly looking for problems to solve, that’s how I got myself into Mainframe technologies at a financial institution. Now I'm looking for my next challenge as a Backend NodeJS Developer. II have experience working with stakeholders to help them understand and fulfill their needs. Maintainer Developer
Maintainer of the community's open-source Web project, it has been a rewarding experience, which allowed me to cooperate with the distributed team in the construction of this site, to communicate news, and allow the diffusion of Javascript in Ecuador. From the technological point of view, it is a static site made in React/Gatsby and hosted in Netlify. ● The project was created using: Gatsby.js (react.js), Tailwind CSS, GIT/GITHUB, Netlify for site deployment, Figma for prototyping and design. ● In this context built an additional pet project. It is a marketplace, single-page app on the front and REST API in the back using Node with Express.js framework and MongoDB.
SSr Software Engineer
Development of internal/intranet tools with JavaScript(Front), C#(back) that connect to the company's core software through SQL stored procedures allowing to automate tasks and improve the productivity of several internal processes. ● Backend development of new functionalities of the core banking software on mainframe IBMi AS400 allowing us to create new services for our customers. ● Approach and requirements gathering with the user, versioning manager, documentation, design, development, and implementation of modules and improvements requested by stakeholders.

In charge of the development of the "IX Concurso Ecuatoriano de Robótica - CER 2013" website, for the Electronic Engineering career. (Javascript/PHP) ● Set up a platform (open-source canned software) for the registration of Universities and students to the different categories of the contest, meeting deadlines, fixing deployment errors and application bugs on the fly. ● It was my first experience in a real project, with mistakes but much more learning, the technologies I used: PHP, HTML, CSS, JS, and various tools such as OCS(Open Conference System), etc.
